Junior Trader

Role Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Trader to manage and optimize our energy portfolios across various markets, including RES Aggregation, Retail, and Cross Border trading. In this dynamic role, the successful candidate will be instrumental in scheduling, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with market regulations, while actively participating in the analysis and forecasting of energy trends to improve operational efficiency. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis tools, and effective communication abilities to collaborate with team members and external parties. Ideal candidates should have a background in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics, with a keen understanding of energy markets and the capability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Handle scheduling submissions for RES Aggregation, Retail and Cross Border energy portfolios in various markets.

• Monitor daily schedules, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate with relevant market operators (e.g., HENEX, ADMIE) to ensure compliance.
• Assist in analyzing energy consumption, generation, and market trends to identify optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with the team to provide actionable insights from data analysis to enhance portfolio performance.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of processes, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with external parties, including market operators, counterparties, and regulatory bodies, to resolve scheduling issues and ensure alignment.
• Assist in the development of forecasting models and tools to improve operational efficiency.
• Assist in the settlements process, monitor and validate transaction data to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Support the team in handling any procedures related to portfolio management transactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics or Mathematics.
• Master’s degree in Economics or Energy would be considered a plus.
• Strong understanding of energy markets.
• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools; Programming and database skills, preferably in Python and SQL is a plus.
• Communication Skills: Strong command of the English language.
