S4S Tilos – Hybrid Power Station for energy autonomy.

S4S system (STORAGE FOR SUSTAINABILITY, SMART GRID, SOLUTIONS, SECURITY) is the EEG’s pioneering technology system for “smart” management of energy produced. It includes software that integrates multiple sources of energy together with storage to create a secure smart network.

S4S intelligently manages both energy production and storage. In addition, with the help of the smart load feature, also developed within the S4S, it is also possible to include controlled loads to the power management system. This ensures smart production and consumption management.

Part of the S4S was first implemented in the internationally awarded “TILOS Project” paving the way and providing a critical trigger and catalytic example of applied energy transfer technology, with immediate and measurable benefits to the environment, economy and energy consumers in the remote island of the Dodecanese at present and in a wider area in the future.

NEANIAS will deliver innovative thematic services that are flexible and open to accommodate the needs of communities beyond their original definition, and able to adapt to neighboring cases, fostering reproducibility and re-usability.

SmartLivingEPC: Advanced Energy Performance Assessment towards Smart Living in Building and District Level

SmartLivingEPC project aims to integrate the main parameters that constitute Industry 4.0 into a Smart Energy Performance Certificate and deliver a certificate which will be issued with the use of digitized tools and retrieve the necessary assessment information for the building shell and building systems from BIM literacy, including enriched energy and sustainability related information for the as designed and the actual performance of the building.

SmartSPIN: Smart energy services to solve the SPlit INcentive problem in the commercial rented sector

The project aims at developing, testing and validating a new business model to improve the energy efficiency and flexibility in the commercial rented sector. The SmartSPIN consortium will design, demonstrate, implement and test smart energy solutions in three European pilot sites in Ireland, Spain and Greece.

DATACELLAR: Data hub for the Creation of Energy communities at Local Level and to Advance Research on them.

DATA CELLAR aims to create a public energy data space that will support the creation development and management of Local Energy Communities (LEC) in the EU. The data space population will be facilitated via an innovative rewarded private metering approach, with a focus on an easy onboarding and interaction, guaranteeing a smooth integration with other EU energy data spaces, providing to LEC stakeholders services and tools for developing their activities.

GEMINI: hiGh fidElity Modelling for small wINd turbInes.

24_7 ZEN: Reversible SOEC/SOFC System for a zero emissions network energy system

The goal of 24_7 ZEN is to design and build a high performing 33/100kW scale rSOC power balancing plant and demonstrate its compatibility with the electricity and gas grids. The overarching objective of the project is to design, build, test and validate a rSOC plant generating 33 kW of electric power in SOFC and injecting/storing 100 kW of electric power in the form of green H2 (SOEC mode). The multidisciplinary consortium behind this project has been spearheading innovations in the energy management and are pioneers on the rSOC systems development.

*The 24/7 ZEN Project, funded by the EU through the Horizon Europe Framework Programme, is currently under Grant Agreement preparation by the EU and the 24/7 ZEN Consortium.

Crete-Aegean Hydrogen Valley (CRAVE-H2)

The Crete Aegea Hydrogen Valley (CRAVE H2) project in Crete focuses on developing and operating advanced hydrogen technologies, encompassing the entire hydrogen value chain to replace polluting fossil fuels with hydrogen. It aims to ensure hydrogen safety and analyze its social and environmental impacts locally. CRAVE-H2 involves significant financial investment, integrating hydrogen production from renewable sources, high-pressure storage, and distribution systems including a hydrogen filling station. The project faces challenges in designing, permitting, building, operating, and trading within the hydrogen economy, aiming to establish the first commercial hydrogen usage in Greece and potentially develop a major Green Hydrogen hub in Atherinolakos.

CRETE VALLEY

CRETE VALLEY, co-funded by the European Union, aims to transform Crete into a self-sufficient, renewable energy system by establishing the first Renewable Energy Valley ‘Living Lab’ (REV-Lab) in Europe. This initiative will consist of four Community Energy Labs (CELs) across Crete, utilizing diverse renewable sources like solar, wind, and biomass. The project will also incorporate advanced ICT technologies to demonstrate the scalability of renewable systems and expedite the green transition, fostering energy security and independence.
